IMPORTANT: The Wii U Virtual Console patch for Rockman EXE 4.5: Real Operation has NOT been tested for compatibility with the translation patch. IMPORTANT: For BN5 / EXE5, two patches are included. The 'normal' patch, which produces a 1:1 copy of the Wii U Virtual Console ROM, includes frame blending instructions which are only supported in the Wii U Virtual Console emulator, and as such it will crash on a conventional emulator, unless you are using mGBA 0.6.0 or newer. To play the VC version of the game on a different emulator, use the Frame Blending Disabled patch (previously called Motion Blur Disabled), which is a hacked version that disables the frame blending instructions.
• In BN4, certain chips had programming glitches that didn't show up on the GBA. There were fixed as well, on the ROM level. • In BN5, a frame blending effect is applied in ACDC Town for some reason. • Finally, the devs went and revised a number of palettes in all of the games in order to improve the contrast and make them easier on the eyes, or to remove effects that could be seizure inducing. This might also have something to do with the fact that the GBA Virtual Console emulator performs gamma correction. I have not documented all palette differences, but here is an example from BN3: Left = GBA, Right = Wii U. Note how the floor panels are less shiny and use softer colors.
At first, Chrono X wasn't going to have multiplayer. We were( and still are) a small team of 5 and we understood our limits. We knew that adding more and more difficult-to-create features would just serve to massively increase the scope of the project and put its completion in jeopardy. We only added it in after we caved to requests. For the record, implementing a multiplayer mode is easy in of itself, but a good multiplayer is a whole other beast entirely. If we were going to do something, we would aim to make it a worthwhile addition. To your second question, patching will mostly be there to address small bugs and especially egregious balance concerns.

In this thread you'll find IPS patches that convert the GBA ROMs of the Mega Man Battle Network / Rockman EXE games into their Wii U Virtual Console versions. These versions have a number of changes from their retail GBA versions. I've personally dumped the European and Japanese versions of all the games, as well as verified the North American versions. Thanks to ubergeek77, VinsCool and goodtofufriday for their contributions. So what exactly is noteworthy about these versions?
There is actually an English guide to 4.5 on GameFAQs, though I can't remember if it tells you what the menu options say or not. I could try to scantilate some of 4.5's menus into English, if you're willing to settle for that. Is there a way to create a english translation patch for the Japanese versions, so that we can still get the content that was cut from the western releases, but understand what the menus and characters are saying (specifically 4.5 and 6)?It's possible- there's actually a 4.5 translation patch in progress, iirc- but it's a lot of work, especially for a text-heavy rpg like this.
Ideally, I'd like a simultaneous release for PC and Android, but if nothing else, the PC version comes first. This feature was always up in the air. Capcom only had those in to sell toys. Merchandising, basically. Since we can't make money, then it's reasonable to say we shouldn't put the time in to create that. While we're undecided on the matter, keep in mind that we don't throw in features just because 'it would be nice.' We always have to consider the implications, and the overall point of them.

The battle system in Pokemon is a lot simpler, and it's probably tough to create/edit Battle Network enemies because they all have unique movements and attack styles in the fights (stealing panels, hitting multiple panels, teleporting, etc) whereas Pokemon games are turn-based and rely more on stats and types than movements and timing. Turn-based battle systems are easier to manage, and there have even been a couple pokemon games made in rpgmaker! Also, let's face it, Pokemon is a lot more popular, and it's more likely to find a dedicated programmer who loves Pokemon than one who loves Battle Network. I don't know much about how romhacks are made, but i'd love to see/help with some battle network ones! But yeah easier battle system + more fans = more romhacks probably • • • •.
