From reading this thread, it sounds like the 210 has the magnetic clutch-type gearbox, no doubt similar to that used on the SAG 12. Reggae gold 1996 various artists. A friend from Dallas who occasionally posts here just bought a Sag12 from Reliable. It's a beautiful machine. Like Peter says, very complex gearbox with twin (?) electromagnetic clutches on each drive shaft. I'll see if I can get John to reply:).

The t pain effect. There are probably a lot of other differences that I don't know about. Just a little Sag14 trivia:-). Hope you get it operational soon and enjoy using it. Ted, I did get an 8' 4 jaw, but that 10' 3jaw is a pretty hefty chunk for most of my work. Collets are a great thing, but the variety of sizes, irregularities and tapers that I work with tends to make them more work than they are worth. I got the RPC (Cedarberg 50) yesterday and now I have to get a switch unit wired up to turn it on and off, I hope the guys at the electronics supply can point me in the right direction for the best choice.

It looks like I can take off the 4 bolts that hold the trans in the base and pull the trans and motor together. Any thoughts on this? I also removed the head stock cover and check the gears, they look great plus I turned it on and watch the oil pump, COOL!!! I going to drain, flush and clean out the head stock case and refill with a good oil. Does the manual show how to take the trans apart? Thanks for your help-Dan. Dan, Noise in gearbox.

Graziano machine tools were made in Tortona, Italy and although a wide range of lathes was manufactured, the company's most popular appears to have been the SAG 180, later to be sold as the improved SAG 14. The later version had a bed some 3/8' wider, much larger micrometer dials, a hand-operated bed and cross slide lubrication pump, top and. Graziano SAG 14 lathes for sale. Graziano replaced the electromagnetic clutch system, at least on the SAG 12, with a Reeves Drive on it's successor: the SAG 12S. Graz stopped making manual lathes in the late 80's, so I don't think there were any VFD or servo versions.

(just do a search under 'Graziano') Where are you located? Ted, What a small world, I am down here in San Diego, so I am only looking at about 85 miles for delivery (still not cheap). I have seen the Ebay listings for manuals, but I get a feeling that they are copies, so I need to send an e-mail to find out for sure. I will gladly pay that price for an original in color, but if somebody just copied it in B/W at Staples, I will pass. I will be busy, trying to pull together and sifting through my tooling to see what I have that will work on this unit.

The floor of the U-haul trailers is galvanized steel, so the load can be slid into place relatively easy - but this means it must be tied down well so as to not allow the load to move under road stress such as sudden stops. I prefer the heavy nylon straps with tighteners rated at 3300 lbs for hauling cars, but some prefer chains. TT, Now that you point it out, I understand what you mean about boxing. I would do that with the headstock end due to the greatest weight and it would not hamper access with the engine hoist. I realize the need to center the load with a slight bias towards the tongue. I mentioned this idea at work and one of the guys mentioned that he thought that we had some skates.

Crawling around that machine, listening to it run and looking inside the gear box, I was blown away by the simplicity of operation. Everything was laid out in such a logical manner, the way it was assembled and the number of standard features, I realized that I have never been around a unit of this caliber. I realize that there are makes which others will agree are superior, but as true as those statements may be, I have never had the pleasure of being around them, so this has set a personal high water mark for me. It will be a few weeks before I have the remainder of the funds generated and then I can make arrangements to move it. I will look forward to posting pictures when I get it here. 706jim, Thanks for the input, I can hardly wait to get it here.

Includes copies of the (frequently damaged) screwcutting charts, charts for special threads and an Electrical Schematic. Two editions aare included - a smaller earlier one and a fuller later - together with a detailed and well-illustrated Sales, Specification and Accessories Catalogue and a Schlesinger Test Chart. Although very clear in their original form, some parts diagrams were rather small with several to a page - these have been scanned at very high resolution and printed separately.

One option would be to take it to one of those printing centers and pay the money for a high resolution color copy. Everyone is trying to get rich off these manuals without making them quality. As an example, I priced out color coying at Kinko's, it would cost approximately $125.00 to copy an 80 page manual and they can print up to 11'x17', so the fold out schematics would be full size IIRC.
